Artist's
Statement
I find much of the excitement, fun and inspiration for
my basketry comes from nature's endless bounty. The
forms, colors and textures found 'in my baskets are
all reflections of my close relationship with their
source. Nests, knotholes and roots draw me in. The play
of shadows and light found in the woods where I live
on the Eastern Shore of Maryland is great inspiration.
Their
integration is important to me: like weaving together
disparate parts of our lives to make a whole.
