Susan
took her first basketry class in 1987, looking for a
portable craft she could take along while her husband
was fishing. Shebecame hooked when
she learned how to harvest, pound, split, size and weave
with brown ash. She has experimented with various materialsincluding
electrical wire and returns always to the fiber of her
heart, brown ash. Susan's work has received numerous
awards, and she has taught at conventions and guilds
throughout the country.
